Description
On May 27, 2023, 343 Labs in New York will be collaborating with the Brooklyn Digital Conservatory to offer a course on Live Performance using Ableton Live. The course will be taught by Berklee College of Music Professor Dan Freeman who also offers this course at New York University’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music. The course will go into setting up and performing with Ableton Live as a solo performer, band and even a visualist. The following topics will be covered in the course:
- Warping & Audio Setup
- Using Ableton With MIDI Controllers
- Processing Live Audio
- Setting Up A Live Band
- Live Looping And Generative Music
- Setting Up Soundcards
- Introduction To Max For Live
- Using Videosync
- Preparing And Executing A Performance
The course will meet at 343 Labs on Saturdays from 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM from May 27 to July 8, 2023 (With the exception of June 10). It will culminate in a final performance that will be videotaped for each student to have a reference of their work.
