The Brooklyn Digital Conservatory and ShapeShifter Lab will continue the Digital and Acoustic Sessions open workshop series in Brooklyn on July 24, 2016 at 6:30 PM. This month’s Digital + Acoustic Sessions will feature artist, music technologist and associate professor at Berklee, Erin Barra showing techniques for using Ableton Live as a songwriting tool. Erin Barra’s boundary-breaking approach to electronic music has most recently been featured on MusicTech, Ableton.com, Sonic Scoop and Billboard. Through workshops and performances across the country, Barra has introduced audiences to a unique setup that blends an inspiring combination of technology, performance and songwriting. There will also be a presentation on looping by Johnny Butler and live techniques by Ableton Certified Trainer Dan FreeMan (CØm1x). Following the presentations from 6:30 – 8, there will be live Ableton sets from 8:30 – 11 featuring Erin Barra, Johnny Butler, Dan FreeMan (CØm1x) and other special guests. Live visuals by Øh1ØM1ke.
